Women’s Soccer Secures Win with 2 Goals in Final 14 Minutes

The Georgetown College Tigers women's soccer team delivered an exciting 2-0 victory against the Union Commonwealth Bulldogs at Toyota Stadium on Saturday afternoon, improving their record to 2-1-0. The match remained scoreless in the first half, with both teams creating chances but unable to break the deadlock. Georgetown's Olivia York and Union Commonwealth's Arianna Brenes each made critical saves, with York stopping all three of the Bulldogs' shots on target and Brenes denying Georgetown's two on-target attempts.

The Tigers' efforts finally paid off late in the second half, with Kali Settle hitting paydirt in the 76th minute, scoring from a Bekah Clark assist to take a 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, Kendyl Rumple sealed the win in the 86th minute with a brilliant 32-yard strike, capitalizing on a defensive turnover. Georgetown's attack was led by Clark's six shots and Settle's two, while Union Commonwealth's Iyana Campbell fired three shots on goal but couldn't convert. The Tigers' seven corner kicks and disciplined defense showcased their control throughout the match.

The Tigers return to Toyota Stadium on Wednesday at 7:00 PM for a midweek match with IU-Kokomo (IN).
