COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Georgetown College women's soccer team (3-3-1, 0-1 MSC) opened up Mid-South Conference play with a 3-0 loss to Lindsey Wilson University (2-3-1, 1-0 MSC) at Walter S. Reuling Stadium on Tuesday night.
THE MATCH
In the opening few minutes, both sides had tested the opposing keeper. Bekah Clark had the first attempt just as the third minute rolled on before LWU's Annabel Fletcher put on Olivia York's radar in the sixth minute. Neither team broke through, as a back-and-forth possession-based first half concluded. The Tigers had six shots in total in the first half while the Blue Raiders managed 11.
The second half quickly unraveled for the Tigers. In the 58th minute, Lara Roche scored what would go on to become the game-winning goal, but more impressively, just her first strike of the night. Roche had a brace bagged by the 79th minute before capping off the hat trick in the 84th minute off a penalty kick. The Tigers took just one shot in the second half, falling 3-0.
