Abby Moss Selected as First-Ever NAIA Finalist for the ITA Sally Ride STEM Award

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Georgetown College women's tennis senior Abigail Moss was recently selected as a finalist for the ITA Sally Ride STEM award.
 
First introduced in 2022, the ITA Sally Ride STEM Award is named after the first American woman to soar into space, Dr. Sally Ride, who captured the nation's imagination as a symbol of the ability of women to shatter barriers.

Moss is the first tennis player from the NAIA ranks to be named a finalist for the award.
 
In total, 18 finalists have been named over the five-year history, mostly from the NCAA Division III ranks.
 
Moss is Georgetown College's second student to apply for this prestigious award. Maci Ferguson applied during the 2022 season but was not selected as a finalist.
 
Moss intends to go to medical school upon graduation and has been accepted into the University of Kentucky College of Medicine as well as the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
