Tigers Finish Marshall Alumni Classic With Eight Top-10 Program Finishes

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – The Georgetown College men's and women's indoor track and field team opened its season in the Chris Cline Athletic Complex with eight top-10 finishes in program history as part of the Marshall Alumni Classic on Saturday.

All four Tigers who competed in the shot put finished with a top-10 performance in school history. First up, Reese Hardeman finished 16th overall with her 8.80m toss, which was ninth best all-time, while Chloe Brotherton's 8.71m effort was 10th best. 

For the men, Evan Burroughs punched in a top-5 effort with a 12.18m toss to also place 16th overall, while Zander Bishop's 9.98m toss was good for 22nd on the day and 9th best in Georgetown history. 

Hardeman and Brotherton once again cracked into the top 10 in women's weight throw history. Hardeman now owns the 8th best distance, while Brotherton's throw is 9th furthest.

In the 3,000m run, Layne Clark (9:33.00) turned in the 3rd best finish in program history, while Bryant Curtis (9:35.94) also set a top-5 performance.

Both Tiger squads travel to Terre Haute, Indiana, to take part in the Larry Cole Opener on the campus of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
 
The meet is being billed as Friday Night Spikes "Larry Cole" Opener and will be in the SRC Fieldhouse.
