Freed-Hardeman Stops Tigers in Four
HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Georgetown College volleyball team (4-21, 0-11 MSC) dropped a road match to Freed-Hardeman (18-14, 3-8 MSC) in the Brewer Sports Center on Thursday night.
The Lions defeated the Tigers in four sets, winning 25-19, 25-15, 18-25, 25-18.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After the opening 12 points were split evenly, the Lions received the next four points via kills and aces to put the set out of reach. Despite the Tigers pulling back within one just a handful of points later, FHU stretched its set lead to as many as nine, winning 25-19.
The Lions offense took control of the second set early as they raced out to a 5-1 lead. Despite the Tigers trying to regain some momentum, the Lions made fewer mistakes in the game to win 25-15.
The third set brought some confidence back to Georgetown as it held a 7-2 lead early. FHU pulled within three points on two different occasions, but the Tigers held strong and won six of the final eight points to win, 25-18,
The fourth set saw FHU take the opening five points and not look back from there. Georgetown fought back to make it an 8-7 game, but could not overcome the early deficit. Reagan Kupper added a couple of late kills to pull the Tigers within five, but ultimately, they fell, 25-18.
THE TEAM
Georgetown hit .134 as a squad, with FHU earning a .204 mark. The Tigers had 35 kills and 29 assists. Georgetown collected four service aces and 50 digs.
THE PLAYERS
* Mallori Dunn-Martin collected a team-high 11 kills with nine digs and two assists.
* Reagan Kupper added eight kills and six digs.
* Faith Miller produced 11 assists and five digs.

The Tigers close the regular season on the road at Bethel University (9-14, 3-7 MSC) on Saturday, November 8.
