Overpeck finishes eighth behind NCAA runners

Elisha Overpeck finished eighth behind all NCAA runners this past weekend at the Fast Cats Classic. All of Georgetown College women's cross country scoring runners finished inside the top 30, helping the Tigers to take fourth place overall.

"I'm very proud of our team," said GC coach Betsy Laski. "They are improving every week and as a team I think this is the best collective time they have run this season."

Overpeck ran a 19:00.45 on the 5,000 meter course. Seventeen seconds separated the Tigers second through fifth place runners. Mary Jefferson came crossed the line in a time of 19:57.40, right behind her was Finnja Ramcke, 20:05.36. Rachel Ditto, 20:12.93, and Marissa Hale, 20:14.02, rounded out the scoring spots for GC.

The men finished seventh Saturday with all of its scoring runners inside the top 50.

Grant Curran led the way with a 28:11.61 finish. Brandon Pulliam crossed in 28:46.19. Sam Heaton (28:58.44), Peyton Anderson (29:01.76), and Cody Polzin (29:20.41) rounded out the scoring runners in the Fast Cats Classic.

This weekend the Tigers travel to the Southeast Classic, the last tune up before the conference meet Nov. 5.
