No. 17 Tigers Blow Out Midway to Close Jim Reid Classic
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 17 Georgetown College men's basketball team (6-2) finished the 32nd Annual Jim Reid Classic with a 107-67 win over Midway University (3-3) in Davis-Reid Alumni Gym on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Scotty Browning was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, scoring 12 first-half points to help the Tigers cruise to a win to close the Jim Reid Classic. The first 10 minutes were played back-and-forth before Browning and then Zion Harmon connected from range to give the Tigers a 21-15 lead at the second media timeout. Bubba Leavell sank back-to-back shots in the late stages of the half to strengthen the Tiger lead. Harmon made six of the final 12 points of the half for Georgetown, who commanded a 50-32 advantage at the break.
The Tigers' shooting percentage increased in the second half, with the squad making an efficient nearly 65% from the field. Georgetown outscored Midway by 22 in the half behind seven made 3-pointers. Everyone but Browning scored in the half, while Isaiah Mason, Aden Nyekan, and Bubba Leavell all had nine points to help the Tigers to the 107-67 victory.
THE TEAM
Georgetown shot 63.6% from the field. The Tigers were 12-23 (52.2%) from deep and shot 11-16 (68.6%) at the free-throw line. GC won the rebounding battle, 44-26, while the Tigers also held the assists advantage, 23-6. The Tigers also had more steals, 6-4.
THE PLAYERS
* Rashad Bishop scored a team-high 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field while pulling down 12 rebounds.
* Bubba Leavell added 16 points and dished out two assists.
* Isaiah Mason had 13 points and three rebounds.

Georgetown takes on LSU Alexandria (3-1) in the opening game in Crisp Arena at 4:00 p.m.
