Tigers Set to Host 32nd Annual Jim Reid Classic This Weekend

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Georgetown College men's basketball team is set to host the 32nd annual Jim Reid Classic sponsored by Central Bank, November 14-15.

The two-day classic is set to feature nearby Midway University as well as fellow Mid-South Conference member Bethel (TN) with WVU Tech rounding out the teams.

ABOUT JIM REID:
Jim Reid became Georgetown's head basketball coach in 1973 at the age of 24, after former legendary coach Bob Davis departed for Auburn.

A former player and assistant for Davis, Reid went on to become the college's winningest basketball coach with a 529-199 record after spending 23 seasons with the Tigers.

Coach Reid passed in 1996 at the age of 48. That year, the team went to the national tournament, where they lost in the final.

In 2012, it was named the Davis-Reid Alumni Gym to honor longtime basketball coaches Bob Davis and Jim Reid.

No two-day classic tickets will be sold, just single day passes which will be good for both games. Admission is $10 for adults. Cash and credit card is accepted at the door.
