Tigers Take Two of Three From Wildcats to Begin MSC Play
MCKENZIE, Tenn. – The Georgetown College softball team (7-8, 2-1 MSC) opened Mid-South Conference play against Bethel University (8-9, 1-2 MSC) on Friday and Saturday at Lady Wildcat Park.
On Friday, the Tigers took down the Wildcats 6-0 before Bethel closed the day with a 9-1 win in game two.

On Saturday, Georgetown took the series with a 7-2 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
The Tigers pushed ahead in the opening game behind a Delaney Vaughn two-run homer in the second. The third and fourth had two hits each but no runs to show before Georgetown scored again in the fifth. Kylie Miller singled in Kinley Lucas while two more runs were scored in the sixth. A passed ball brought in the first run before Delaney Vaughn had a fly out to left to bring in Evie Thomas. Ainsley Herron closed the scoring in the seventh with a single to left to help the Tigers to a 6-0 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME ONE
* Kylie Miller went 3-4 with an RBI.
* Kinley Lucas was 2-3 with two runs scored.
* Lilli Koch went 2-4.
* Kylie Miller (4-3) picked up the win, throwing a complete game shutout while striking out six off just one hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Georgetown scored the first run of the game in game two but did not touch home again. Kylie Miller's double scored Michalee Clay. The Wildcats added two in the third and blew the game open with a seven run fourth inning. The game ended in the fifth with two Tigers left on base.

* Kady Dennis was 2-3.
* Kylie Miller went 1-1 with a run scored.
* Michalee Clay was 0-0 with three walks and a run scored.
* Addi Watson (2-4) took the loss, tossing 3.2 innings, striking out two, while allowing five earned runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME THREE
Game three saw Georgetown collect a five-run first inning, highlighted by another Delaney Vaughn two-run homer. Bethel got one of its two runs in the third off a long ball. Ainsley Herron singled in another run in the fifth. The Wildcats singled in their second and final run in the sixth before the Tigers added their seventh run in the seventh to win, 7-2.

* Michalee Clay was 3-4 with two runs scored.
* Kylie Miller went 2-3 with a run scored.
* Ainsley Herron was 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI.
* Kylie Miller (5-3) picked up the win, tossing 5.2 innings while striking out three, allowing two runs and five hits.
