No. 3 Campbellsville Knocks No. 5 Tigers out of MSC Tournament, 3-2

COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Georgetown College softball team (17-22, 6-12 MSC) was eliminated in the Mid-South Conference tournament by No. 3-seed Campbellsville University (30-16, 12-6 MSC) on Friday afternoon at Sparks Park.

Campbellsville defeated Georgetown 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Kylie Miller led the game off with a single to shortstop before the Tigers were retired in order from there. A one-out single in the bottom of the first was all Campbellsville could muster before the No. 3 seed scored in the second. Lilli Koch singled in the second while Campbellsville pushed ahead in the home half with a leadoff double followed by a throwing error. The third featured one hit by CU before the Tigers doubled their lead in the fourth. A leadoff single set up a Macy McCoy double to right center, making it 2-0 Campbellsville. The Tigers scored twice in the fifth. Haylee Stansbury singled before Katlyn Spickard walked. Both moved into scoring position off a wild pitch. Kylie Miller hit a sacrifice fly to bring in the first run before Ainsley Herron singled in the game-tying run. With two gone in the bottom of the sixth, Campbellsville scored the game-winning run. A throwing error allowed Jessie Daniels to reach, and Ashlan Estep to score. Despite a leadoff walk from Stansbury in the seventh, the Tigers were retired in order from there, falling 3-2.
