No. 9 Tigers Explode for 35 Third Quarter Points in Win over Warner
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The No. 9 Georgetown College football team (3-0) exploded for a 35-point third quarter to defeat Warner University (0-2) 45-14 at Toyota Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Gehrig Slunaker completed 5 of his 12 passes for 75 yards and one touchdown through the air.
- Georgetown ran for 199 yards on the ground, led by 131 yards and two touchdowns from Guy Bailey.

- The Tigers and Royals slowed the game pace down in the second.
- Neither team scored, though the Royals had a 42-yard field goal attempt partially blocked by the Tigers' line.
- That drive lasted over eight minutes by Warner.
Third Quarter:
- The game broke open after halftime as the Tigers poured on 35 points.
- Quarterback Gehrig Slunaker connected with Chandler Godby for a 10-yard score.
- Slunaker's next read was intercepted for a 50-yard interception returned for a touchdown for the Royals' first score of the day.
- The Tigers responded on their next drive with a 2:46 drive that ended in Jarren Johnson's first career touchdown reception. Justice Burnam found Johnson for the 13-yard score.
- After a forced fumble gave Georgetown the ball back, Clayton Davis lobbed one up for 21 yards to Godby for the quickest drive of the day, a touchdown that needed just seven seconds to complete.
- Guy Bailey punched in his first of two scores at the 4:51 mark of the third quarter for the Tigers' fourth touchdown of the frame.
- Bailey showed no quit as he continually rushed straight through tackles on the next Georgetown possession. This time, Bailey ran right through the heart of the Royal defense for a 22-yard touchdown with 3:16 to play.
Fourth Quarter:
- Nate Craft closed up the scoring for the Tigers as he swung a 28-yard field goal through the uprights with 11:44 to play to make it a 45-7 game.
- Warner's next drive lasted 13 plays and 75 yards, ending in a six-yard rushing touchdown before the Tigers got the ball and ran out the final two plus minutes of clock for the 45-14 victory.

The Tigers hit the road next Saturday for their final non-conference game of the season. Georgetown plays preseason No. 8 St. Thomas University (1-1) at noon at AutoNation Field in Miami Gardens, FL.
